Thing is, even if they thought it was just a meteor shower, it occurred worldwide simultaneously. And a close-up showed an angel splashing into a lake. So it’s a stretch to say nobody saw an angel fall up close to them other than just Dean and Sam.

Seriously, angels were expelled FROM Heaven, not SENT TO earth. There’s a difference. Michael and Lucifer were not in Heaven, so they won’t be sent to earth.
